No Peace in Wike-Fubara Presidential Intervention – Rivers Elders

Fubara Wike Tinubu 696x418

No Peace in Wike-Fubara Presidential Intervention – Rivers Elders on the Latest News on 9ja2nice media for the news No Peace in Wike-Fubara Presidential Intervention – Rivers Elders.

The Rivers Elders and Leaders Forum has said it would approach the court of law to interpret the 8-point resolutions by President Bola Tinubu on the political crisis in Rivers state, saying his intervention had no semblance of peace.

According to the Elders, there was no peace in the presidential agreement orchestrated by President Tinubu, as the directive that Governor Siminalayi Fubara should reverse all his resolutions against the 27 legislators, who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All-Progressives Congress (APC), and recall all the commissioners, who resigned from his cabinet is illegal.

In an open letter, addressed to President Tinubu and signed by a former governor of Rivers State, Chief Rufus Ada-George and 19 others, the statesmen stated that the composition and attendance at the peace meeting in Abuja showed a lack of balance between the two factions.

They noted that “the faction recognized by a court of competent jurisdiction, the Elders of Rivers State, traditional rulers, women and youth leadership, were not represented at the meeting.”

“Giving a directive for the reinstatement of commissioners who willfully resigned, and the 27 former legislators, who in all clear conscience and by legal implication jumped boat and got themselves dismissed from the affairs of the Assembly, should be reinstated and remunerated, smacks of a sense of political irresponsibility, lack of sensitivity to the laws of the land and due process.”

The group further insisted that the seats of the defector-members of the state House of Assembly “have been declared vacant by the Speaker, known to law, Rt Hon Ehie Edison, through an ex parte order issued by the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt division.”

It was “evident that Governor Siminalayi Fubara, the Chief Executive Officer of Rivers State, was coerced into submitting to your (Tinubu) premeditated action plan even when it is well known that Mr President does not possess such powers to give directives to a democratically elected governor or impose his will on the state government and the good people of Rivers State.”

“As far as we are concerned, that meeting did not happen and those directives are not implementable because to do so will be acting against the constitution and the rule of law.”

The elders also told the governor, “You are a principal participant in the entire saga and the Presidential Peace Proclamation is not as bad as being portrayed by those genuinely opposed to it,” noting that the peace proclamation has elicited mixed reactions from Rivers people and across the country.

The forum advised the governor not to place too much premium on the assurances of “detractors” but rather, be guided by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as he swore to uphold.

“The Forum believes that there could be peace in Port Harcourt and indeed the entire Rivers if only your Excellency would be circumspect in your actions, measured in your engagements, and have a critical mind in your review of events.

“Therefore, Mr. Governor, you have no constitutional or any other legal power to implement the Presidential Peace Proclamation,” the statement stated.

MohBad: Why we have not concluded investigation on his death – Police

Former Marlian Music Signee Mohbad Internet 696x407

MohBad: Why we have not concluded investigation on MohBad‘s death – Police, – Latest News on 9ja2nice media for Why we have not concluded investigation on MohBad’s death – Police.

The Lagos State Police Command has provided a progress report on the inquiry into the demise of the singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely recognized as MohBad.

The state lolice spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated in an interview with Punch that they wouldn’t rush the investigation without proper direction or embark on a guesswork.

He emphasised the need to wait for the autopsy report as he claimed the command hasn’t received the report from the pathologists.

Hundeyin disclosed the situation report on the deceased in a bid to respond to the demands of a civil society organisation, the Take It Back Movement, who during a Thursday press conference in Ikeja, Lagos, sought the conclusion of the investigation into Mohbad’s case.

The Head of the Gender Department of the group, Omolola Pedro, in a statement called on the police to “stop the needless delays, make public its findings from the investigation, and protect the rights of the deceased’s wife and child.”

The organisation also feared that prolonged delay in the probe was capable of exposing MohBad’s wife, Wumi, and child, Liam “to several attacks like cyberbullying, cyberstalking, organised malicious campaigns against their persons, and even physical harassment” alleging that this was “the same fate MohbBad suffered while he was alive.”

Pedro added that the police “must immediately conclude the investigation and make its findings public.”

Reacting to this, Hundeyin said: “We’re not the pathologists who carried out the autopsy

“When they (the pathologists) give us their report, we’ll conclude our investigation. For now, that’s what we’re waiting for. Except they want us to do guesswork, we can’t guess; we need to get the report and see the content of the result and we don’t have it yet.”

The Nation reported that MohBad on September 12, 2023 died under mysterious circumstances which sparked rage amongst netizens and also prompted the Nigeria police to set up an investigative team to determine what led to the singer’s demise.

Recall that, Hundeyin had tweeted in September that an “autopsy has been concluded” on Mohbad’s corpse and the police were “awaiting result.”

Erigga Biography And Net Worth

Erigga said …

“When you see parents start feeling entitled, it doesn’t make sense because you had many years ahead of me, why didn’t make it before me? People don’t really address this entitlement mentality in Africa.

I was facing the street alone. I was involved in too many things that I can’t even say on camera. And I just keep wondering like what if I was shot or arrested? Because most of the people I was with then are either dead or in jail.

I had to start raising myself at the age of 8. I started living with my friends and learning bad habits. But then again, I fell in love with music at a very tender age so I knew where I wanted to be regardless of where I was.

Then many years later, I now become Erigga then somebody comes and say, ‘Yo! You’re not taking care of me. You’re not doing this and that.’ And I’m like, ‘Bro, na relations we be because you no father the father wey you suppose father normally. I don father myself alone. And I can’t give you the credit.

All my stepbrothers started begging me to forgive our dad, saying he wasn’t also responsible to them. But at the end of the day, they are only having the conversation with me because I am who I am.”

Reports reaching 9ja2nice has it that the Nigerian Government Confirms Outbreak Of Dengue Virus With 71 Cases In Sokoto as the news trends on the media for Outbreak Of Dengue Virus With 71 Cases In Sokoto on latest news category for the Nigerian Government Confirms Outbreak Of Dengue Virus With 71 Cases In Sokoto.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention has officially verified the occurrence of a dengue fever outbreak in Sokoto State.

In a statement released on its website this Saturday, the NCDC confirmed that the outbreak was identified in November 2023.

The statement signed by the NCDC Director General, Ifedayo Adetifa, disclosed that so far, 71 suspected cases, 13 confirmed cases, and zero deaths have been reported in the state from three Local Government Areas -Sokoto South (60 cases), Wamako (three cases) and Dange Shuni (one case).

It said the majority of the suspected cases reported fall between the age range of 21- 40 years.

Dengue fever is a viral infection caused by the dengue virus and transmitted to humans through the infected mosquito’s bite. Human-to-human transmission of the virus has not been established. The virus is found in tropical and sub-tropical climates, mostly in urban and semi-urban areas worldwide.

Most people with dengue have mild or no symptoms and will get better in one to two weeks. Rarely, dengue can be severe and lead to death. If symptoms occur, they usually begin four to 10 days after infection and last for two to seven days.

The symptoms of the fever may include high fever (40°C/104°F), severe headache, pain behind the eyes, muscle and joint pains, nausea, vomiting, swollen glands, and rash. Individuals who are infected for the second time are at greater risk of severe dengue.

“The NCDC-led multisectoral National Emerging Viral Haemorrhagic Diseases Technical Working Group collaborating with partners and relevant stakeholders, has conducted a rapid risk assessment to guide in-country preparedness activities.

“The NEVHD TWG coordinates preparedness efforts for Ebola virus disease and other emerging viral haemorrhagic fever diseases,”

the statement read in part.
It said the current risk level of the dengue outbreak is moderate based on a dynamic risk assessment.

“There is currently adequate in-country capacity (including technical, health workforce, and diagnostic) to respond effectively in the event of a large-scale outbreak. Nigeria has also responded to viral haemorrhagic fever epidemics like the Ebola Outbreak in 2014 and subsequently Lassa fever.

“This has built our preparedness and response capabilities for viral haemorrhagic fevers like the dengue virus over the years.

“Currently, there is a diagnostics capacity for the dengue virus at the NCDC National Reference Laboratory in Abuja and the Usman Dan Fodio University Sokoto Teaching Hospital Laboratory Centre for Human and Zoonotic Virology.

“However, the NCDC will proceed to optimise existing Lassa fever testing laboratories and others within the NCDC national laboratory network for DENV diagnosis to improve preparedness and readiness in the event of a large-scale outbreak,” it said.

It added that an effective response system is in place with the availability of control capacities to limit the risk of spread to other states.
