MohBad: Why we have not concluded investigation on MohBad‘s death – Police, – Latest News on 9ja2nice media for Why we have not concluded investigation on MohBad’s death – Police.

The Lagos State Police Command has provided a progress report on the inquiry into the demise of the singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely recognized as MohBad.

The state lolice spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated in an interview with Punch that they wouldn’t rush the investigation without proper direction or embark on a guesswork.

He emphasised the need to wait for the autopsy report as he claimed the command hasn’t received the report from the pathologists.

Hundeyin disclosed the situation report on the deceased in a bid to respond to the demands of a civil society organisation, the Take It Back Movement, who during a Thursday press conference in Ikeja, Lagos, sought the conclusion of the investigation into Mohbad’s case.

The Head of the Gender Department of the group, Omolola Pedro, in a statement called on the police to “stop the needless delays, make public its findings from the investigation, and protect the rights of the deceased’s wife and child.”

The organisation also feared that prolonged delay in the probe was capable of exposing MohBad’s wife, Wumi, and child, Liam “to several attacks like cyberbullying, cyberstalking, organised malicious campaigns against their persons, and even physical harassment” alleging that this was “the same fate MohbBad suffered while he was alive.”

Pedro added that the police “must immediately conclude the investigation and make its findings public.”

Reacting to this, Hundeyin said: “We’re not the pathologists who carried out the autopsy

“When they (the pathologists) give us their report, we’ll conclude our investigation. For now, that’s what we’re waiting for. Except they want us to do guesswork, we can’t guess; we need to get the report and see the content of the result and we don’t have it yet.”

The Nation reported that MohBad on September 12, 2023 died under mysterious circumstances which sparked rage amongst netizens and also prompted the Nigeria police to set up an investigative team to determine what led to the singer’s demise.

Recall that, Hundeyin had tweeted in September that an “autopsy has been concluded” on Mohbad’s corpse and the police were “awaiting result.”
