Guinness World Records Confirms Hilda Baci’s Record For Longest Cooking Marathon – 9ja2nice entertainment news.
The Guinness World Records has officially confirmed Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, as the record holder for the longest cooking time by an individual.
The 26-year-old chef from Akwa Ibom state embarked on a non-stop cooking marathon in May 2023, cooking for a total of 100 hours.
This surpassed the previous record held by Indian chef, Lata Tondon, who cooked for 87 hours and 45 minutes.
However, after a thorough review of the evidence, Guinness World Records adjusted Hilda’s record time to 93 hours and 11 minutes, deducting about 7 hours from her initial claim.

According to GWR, this adjustment was made because Hilda mistakenly took extra minutes during one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt.
“However anyone attempting a marathon record receives a five minutes break for every hour that they complete. This is to allow suitable rest breaks for the participants due to th prolonged nature of these records.
”In this case, there was a miss calculation when it came to Hilda’s rest breaks, meaning we are unable to award the 100 hours claimed.”
”I can now announce with a time of 93 hours and 11 minutes, Hilda Baci is the new holder of the Guinness world records title for the longest cooking marathon. Congratulations, you are officially amazing,” a GWR representative said in a video posted on Twitter.
