Governor Bello signs five bills into law 9ja2nice reports – The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Onogwu Muhammed in a statement, hailed Governor Bello for signing the bills.
The bills included the establishment of a health science and technology college, providing for the retirement of teachers, establishing roads fund management board, and allowing the peaceful celebration of cultural festivals.
According to him, the bills aimed to advance cultural development, maintain peace and security, and manage the development of roads in Kogi State.
The signing ceremony, according to the statement, took place at the Government House in Lokoja and was attended by dignitaries, including the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, the Attorney General, and the Secretary to the Kogi State Government.
Governor Bello emphasized the importance of the bills in improving rural infrastructure and transforming the lives of the people of the state.
He thanked the Kogi State House of Assembly for their performance and commended the state Attorney General for ensuring compliance with existing laws.
The Speaker of the Kogi House of Assembly, Mr Mathew Kolawole, expressed joy that the bills were passed and signed into law and thanked Governor Bello for promoting a harmonious working relationship between the executive and the legislature and fostering a peaceful atmosphere.
The Speaker also praised the Governor’s commitment to enacting those laws as a sign of his dedication to the development and progress of Kogi State.
